Presented by the CRISP Shared Services Implementation Center, this webinar series connects CSS Wave 1 public health agencies (PHA) with leading subject matter experts on the technology, standards, and policy driving data modernization, including FHIR, TEFCA, electronic case reporting, data quality, artificial intelligence, and privacy law. Each 60-minute session pairs a short expert presentation with live group discussion, giving participating agencies practical guidance and a community to solve problems together.
The Public Health Data Modernization Webinar Series, hosted by the CRISP Shared Services Implementation Center, was created to close this gap.
This learning collaborative brings together subject matter experts from CRISP Shared Services and the Health Level Seven International (HL7), the Helios FHIR Accelerator, Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE), Lantana, Big Cities Health Coalition and more to share current best practices on the standards, tools, and frameworks shaping public health data modernization, including FHIR, TEFCA, electronic case reporting (eCR), reportable condition authoring, data quality, artificial intelligence, and HIPAA and data privacy law.
Each session runs 60 minutes: a focused 15–20 minute presentation followed by roughly 40 minutes of open discussion and Q&A, giving participating public health agencies (PHAs) the chance to bring real field experience and questions directly to the experts.
The series is open to all PHA, local, state, and territorial, supported by the CRISP Shared Services Implementation Center as part of CDC-funded Public Health Infrastructure Grant (PHIG) data modernization work. Sessions will be recorded for future reference and include slides and supporting materials ranging from topic summaries, Q&As, and field guides shared after each session.
